The carbon facial is a two-stage process.

STAGE ONE
The skin is cleansed and then a thin layer of carbon is applied to the skin where it penetrates deep into the pores.
As the carbon dries it attaches itself to dirt oil and dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Once dried, the laser is applied. The carbon absorbs the light energy from the laser causing it to vaporise.
The heat from the laser activates the natural healing mechanisms in the deeper skin layers.
STAGE TWO
Cellular turnover is stimulated and fibroblasts (healing connective tissue) reignited to begin regenerating collagen and elastin. Over a few weeks the regeneration will continue.
For longer term effects a course of 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart are advised for optimal results followed by a maintenance treatment every 6-8 weeks.
