How it works
The intense pulse light (IPL) and laser penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair. With each relatively painless flash, the hair bulb inside each follicle in the treatment area is heated for a millisecond, thus safely destroying the follicle.

As the hair grows in a cycle, it is only when hairs are in the active growing stage (anagen) that they can be destroyed. A course of 9-12 treatments spaced at one per month will be required.

How many treatments will I need?
Depending on the area being treated, a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 12 treatments are required.
After effects of IPL and Laser
Depending on the area being treated, a slight reddening may subside within 1-2 hours.
Does it hurt?
Not usually. Although everyone has individual pain thresholds, they will vary.
Clients report feeling slight heat to a flicking sensation during the flash which immediately subsides.
Are there any side effects of hair removal?
Temporary side effects may include redness, itchiness, mild swelling, or irritation at the treatment area. All of these are normal following Laser and IPL hair removal. It is important to follow your laser specialist’s advice on pre- and post-care treatment.
Can I have laser and IPL hair removal over the top of the tattoos?
No, as the laser would go for the colour in the ink first before reaching the colour in the hair, we can safely treat it up to the tattoo, though.
How long is the gap between treatments?
This depends on your hair and skin type, but you usually require treatments every 4-6 weeks.
Each body part has a different hair growth cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on the area.
Do hair supplements affect my hair removal treatment?
Yes - hair supplements can affect your progress as they stimulate hair growth.
What is included in a Brazilian treatment?
The Brazilian includes an entire frontal pubic area and bikini line except for the anus area.
Will all treated hair be removed in one session?
No, each laser or IPL hair removal treatment provides a 10-15% reduction. Therefore, it is essential to complete the course at consistent intervals for optimal results.
Will I need maintenance treatments after completing the course?
Yes, you will need a top-up treatment every 4 months.
What is the minimum age for laser/IPL hair removal?
Our clients must be 18 years old.
Younger clients between the ages of 14 and 17 can be treated with a doctor’s letter or parental consent—the parent must be present during the initial consultation.
Aftercare advice
During and before individual treatments, clients must only shave the area.
No plucking, waxing, or depilatory creams can be carried out.
Stay out of direct sunlight and refrain from using sunbeams or false tan for seven days before and after treatment.
SPF 50 is advised following treatment.
