The Difference between Gel and Nail Varnish.

Both products are available in a wide range of colours from black through the colour range to the palest of pink and even white.

The main difference between the two techniques is that gel nails will last considerably longer and are harder wearing than varnish . That’s not to discount the benefits of varnish -It’s easy to apply and remove using regular nail varnish remover. A different colour can be applied immediately, and with care, it can also last up to three weeks.

Gel polish is applied and cured under a UV lamp -(a process known as Polymerisation) before another coat of colour is applied followed by a final clear top coat. These layers are cured under the UV lamp, leaving a strong, virtually impossible-to-chip coating.

The gel will grow out as the nail grows and has to be removed using acetone-soaked pads applied to each nail and left for 5-10 mins.

This dissolves the gel and can easily be removed with a unique tool and gently filed nail.

Gel nails can last up to 2-3 weeks.
