At Aspen, we LOVE this relatively new colouring Effect, which adds depth and dimension or brightness to the mid-lengths and ends. It is—the perfect maintenance colour technique.

So what is Balayage?

Balayage is a colouring technique that involves hand-painting highlights or lowlights onto the hair to create a natural, sun-kissed look. ( Balayage is a French word which means to sweep or to hand paint )

Key Features of Balayage:

Natural Effect:  creates soft, blended highlights.

Low Maintenance: Since the highlights are applied gradually and don't start right at the roots, there's no harsh line of regrowth, which means minimal upkeep.

Customisable: Balayage can suit any hair colour, length, or texture. Versatile

Application: It enhances the natural texture and movement of hair in various styles, including straight, wavy, or curly.

How It's Different from Other Highlighting Techniques:

Traditional Highlights: Involve wrapping sections of hair in foil to create a uniform, streaky Effect. Balayage, on the other hand, is more natural and blended.

Ombre Creates a distinct gradient effect where the hair transitions from darker roots to lighter ends, while balayage focuses on scattered, lighter strands throughout the hair.
