I am halfway through my tattoo removal treatment at Aspen Hair and Beauty, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Like many others, I got a tattoo when I was young that no longer represents who I am today. I was nervous about starting the removal process, but the team at Aspen have made it such a positive journey.

From the moment I walked into their clinic, I felt at ease. Lorna is incredibly welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. During my initial consultation, she took the time to thoroughly explain the process, how the laser works, and what to expect during and after each session. 

The removal is uncomfortable but manageable. However, Lorna ensures that each session is quick, efficient, and precisely executed.

Now, halfway through the recommended sessions, I see a significant difference. The ink has faded considerably, and the tattoo's outline is much less visible. I never expected to see this much progress so soon, and it's clear that the advanced technology they use delivers results.

Following a friend's recommendation, I recently booked an appointment at Aspen Hair and Beauty in Stannington for a complete hair colour transformation.

Lorna started with a consultation and took the time to sit down with me and discuss exactly what I wanted. I was looking for a change but wasn’t entirely sure which shade would suit me best. We finally decided on a rich caramel balayage to brighten my natural dark brown base. Lorna explained every step of the process, from applying the bleach for the highlights to blending the caramel tones to create a seamless, natural-looking finish. I had an IPL carbon facial at Aspen Hair and Beauty in Stannington—an experience with great results! 

My skin has clogged pores and dullness, and I have that permanent “tired” look even after sleeping for 8 hours. 

So, when I heard about the carbon facial at Aspen Hair and Beauty and read all of the recommendations and five-star reviews, having tried all the expensive creams and many other facials, I was intrigued to see what improvements this facial could make that all the others had not.

When I arrived, Lorna at Aspen welcomed me and introduced herself. She then explained that the facial involved the application of a carbon mask and IPL treatment that would deep-clean my pores, zap away impurities, and leave my skin glowing and radiant. The results would be felt and visible immediately after the first facial! Not only that, but the results would continue to improve over the following days, too! I couldn’t wait!

The first step was applying the carbon mask. It felt cool and silky—like a mud mask, but more high-tech. 

Then came the IPL. Lorna explained that it would feel like a series of tiny, warm snaps as the IPL worked its way over the carbon. It was not unpleasant at all—in fact, quite relaxing.

When the treatment was done, Lorna handed me a mirror. The dullness? Gone. My pores? Noticeably cleaner and less open, and the excess oil that was present previously—gone. My face felt clean, smooth, and brighter than in years.

The next few days were even better. My skin felt so soft I couldn’t stop touching it (not recommended), and my makeup went on more evenly and smoothly. I even entered without makeup, something I hadn’t had the confidence to do for years!

I am starting the New Year off as I mean to continue (watch this space!!). One of my many New Year's resolutions is to make and take more time for myself. Self-care, I hoped, would be a treat and a necessity for my state of mind and bring a much-sought-after balance to my hectic work, social, and family schedule.

As this was my initial visit, the stylist, Lorna, also the owner of Aspen, sat me down for a consultation. I explained that I wanted to freshen up my hairstyle with a cut and blow-dry, and we discussed a few options, settling on what was best for my hair type, face shape, and lifestyle. I have to say I felt totally at ease as Lorna listened carefully, and her expertise and experience were immediately apparent—I felt confident that I was in safe hands.

Lorna worked with precision and care, checking with me throughout the process to ensure I was happy with the length and layers. We chatted about everything from holiday plans to the latest hair trends and social news, making the entire experience feel personal and enjoyable.

The finishing touches were applied to the blow dry, full of bounce, texture, and movement—exactly what I had asked for! It was polished and glamorous yet natural enough to fit my everyday look.

The transformation was exactly what I had asked for.

As I left Aspen Hair and Beauty, I couldn't help reflecting on how much my confidence and self-esteem had improved quickly and how much better I felt. They say a woman's hair is the crown she never takes off! This is not to be underestimated. I found myself smiling as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
